What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi are exercises that involves slow graceful movements, meditation, and rhythmic breathing. These exercises can reduce stress, improve one's mood, balance, body flexibility, strengthen immune system and improve heart health.

What Tai Chi do you teach?

Shifu Baltazar teaches the Chuan version of Tai Chi. Chuan is a self defense version of Tai Chi. Tai means Supreme, Chi means Ultimate, and Chuan means Fist or Boxing. Together it means Supreme Ultimate Boxing. It represents the fusion of Yin and Yang into a single ultimate symbol. It originated in Wudang Mountains of Hubei, China where they are home to a famous complex of Taoist temples and monasteries.

 

It is originally conceived as a martial art which involves five elements:

Solo hand and weapon routines (Staff, Double Edged Sword, and Fan)

Breathing

Movement

Awareness exercises and meditation

Pushing hands and self defense techniques
